Because of his paralysis, David has developed a unique way of painting that adapts to his arm and shoulder movements. He accomplished this by using a wrist brace that is adapted for him to use a pen or brush. In some ways, David says it's been a blessing, because in sitting still he has been allowed to look at his world and take it all in. Due to this experience, he has been able to see things in ways that others have not taken the time to observe.With his keen observation of his surroundings, combined with his 30 years as a psychotherapist, he has looked into hundreds of fascinating faces and has been blessed to see the hidden character and personalities of those he has treated. In his own unique way, with his physical limitations, he portrays on canvas what he really feels he senses from his subjects.
